Responsibilities may include administrative support, lab monitoring, certain grading, equipment management, web site development and maintenance, editorial work for scholarly journals, or routine support for publications or social media. To support professional development, the graduate service assistant should be given the opportunity to apply his/her academic skills to the assigned tasks and develop new administrative skills.
PLEASE NOTE: Graduate Service Assistant positions are NOT to have face to face contact or interaction with students in the classes for which they serve. This is due to the applicant not meeting the speaking score requirement and thus, the University prohibits student interaction for this position.

The tuition waiver provided will be in conjunction with the tuition rate for that academic year for the program you are studying.
- If the applicant has completed all coursework and is registered for Continuous Enrollment, the student may be offered a stipend without a tuition waiver and would NOT qualify for the Graduate Assistantship Health Insurance Scholarship.
- Assistantship awards will be given to full-time, credit-bearing students first. PhD students are given preference first, and then MS students immediately after. On rare occasions, the department may decide to offer part-time assistantship awards to students who meet the requirements.
