Essential Functions:
- Assist with the development and execution of a marketing campaign for the CWLC, to include social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter), email marketing, and print advertising.
- Design content (flyers, social media posts, videos) to advertise community classes, tutoring, and other CWLC programs
- Edit the CWLC Newsletter written by Director
- Assist with reports, flyers, communication.
- Collaborate with Assistants to the Chairs of other language-related departments (especially Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures (LL&C) and Department of Spanish Language. Literary & Cultural Studies (SLL&CS)) to ensure coordination and continuity for common events and activities
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) account management
- Media creation, including flyers and social media graphics
- Exceptional proofreading, editing, and copywriting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Initiative, follow-through and reliability
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Experience with Canva, Photoshop, or other design platforms
Required Qualifications:
- Current DU graduate student (preferred) or undergraduate student in their third or fourth year of study
- Eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- Experience designing marketing content (flyers, social media posts)
- Ability to problem-solve, think critically and creatively, and use independent judgment and initiative.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with and building relationships with students, faculty, community leaders, and coworkers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing a marketing plan
Working Environment:
- Multilingual, multicultural office environment where both focused individual work and collaborative teamwork are the norm.
- Office space is shared between three academic departments: the CWLC, LL&C and SLL&CS.
- The student Marketing Coordinator will be expected to work primarily in person in the CWLC office, with flexibility for occasional virtual completion of duties with advance supervisor approval.
Physical Activities:
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
Compensation & Benefits:
The hourly wage for this position is $19. This position is only open to students eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
