Essential Functions:
- Serve as the welcome agents that connect students, employers, alumni, community members, and faculty with the resources, events, staff, and opportunities within the building and wider campus
- Engagement Assistants will develop a vast knowledge of Center staff, programs, and related resources to be able to help problem solve and provide any visitor with solutions to their needs.
- Support daily operations and business functions that could include greeting guests, scheduling appointments, aiding with parking and directions, making copies, data entry, and event process management.
- In addition, some Assistants will also take on a specialty role, further assisting in specific special projects that are department specific.
- Department Specific Specialties could include:
- Employer Connections – Market industry research around employment opportunities – Specialized event marketing for employer events – Hosting and aiding employers while on campus
- Alumni Career & Professional Development – Specialized event planning and marketing for alumni events – Captioning professional development videos
- Data & System Administration – Updates and upgrades to software systems and databases – Data and report analysis
- Alumni Engagement – Specialized event marketing for alumni events – Alumni communication and engagement projects.
- Additional duties to support Burwell Center as needed

- Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to complete data related tasks in multiple software databases with accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- A positive customer service attitude; ability to be very flexible and adapt to change.
- Ability to function effectively in a high traffic work environment
- Must be able to manage time well, work independently, and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to take initiative and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Adept at problem-solving, critical thinking, and using judgment in situations that that require sensitivity and discretion.
Required Qualifications:
- University of Denver student
- 1 year (or equivalent) of customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an educational or non-profit setting
- Experience with online databases
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/ or Google Drive
- Interest in learning more about a career in Higher Education, Alumni Engagement, Data Management, Employer Engagement and/or Operations.
- Work study eligibility a plus
Working Environment:
- This is an in person position, at the Burwell Center for Career Achievement, University of Denver, approximately 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 4:30 PM
- Unexpected interruptions often occur
Physical Activities:
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
