Essential Functions:
- Assist in the day-to-day care and maintenance of zebrafish colonies.
- Perform routine husbandry tasks including feeding, tank cleaning, and water quality monitoring.
- Assist in the setup and execution of experiments related to heart regeneration in adult zebrafish.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve research goals.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interest in biological sciences, particularly in the fields of developmental biology or regenerative medicine.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and protocols with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and analysis.
Required Qualifications:
- This position is a work-study job, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student majoring in Biology or Chemistry for the 2023-2024 academic year.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule of 2-6 hours per week, spread across 5 days.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and responsible with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior research experience in a laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with zebrafish husbandry or aquatic animal care.
- Coursework or background in genetics, molecular biology, or related disciplines.

- Noise level is quiet to moderate
