Essential Functions
- Maintain physical presence at front desk of SIB office to:
- Be available at the Front Desk for the duration of your shift.
- Greet and assist daily visitors to the office, providing information and answering questions as needed.
- Environment – Help to build an inclusive safe space; assist in maintaining suite Mindfulness hours
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff member or department
- Receive and distribute incoming mail and packages
- Manage and maintain office supplies inventory, ordering supplies as needed
- Check-in on Teams each shift

- Strong customer service skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively and creatively solve problems as they arise.
Required Qualifications
- Current DU undergraduate or graduate student enrolled for the 2023-2024 academic year, located in the Denver area
- Have an interest in helping students, faculty, staff, and families navigate the University, the Community Commons and various offices.
- Interest in building Inclusive Communities
- Demonstrate great communication skills over the phone and in person
- Be reliable, organized, and responsible
- Be in good disciplinary standing with the University
Working Environment
- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Hours
- Variable, our office is staffed Mondays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m with some evening and weekend events that may need support as well.
Compensation & Benefits
- This position requires a work-study award through the Financial Aide Office. Students will be paid $18.50 – $20.00/hr depending on experience and with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
