Essential Functions:
- Organize and manage the FIT inventory. Keep up to date when new equipment is added.
- Place orders for any supplies needed for the team.
- Attend weekly meetings.
- Attend parent meetings when appropriate.
- Create data collection sheets for each child every month and hand out to teachers.
- Partake in the RTI process with assistance of universal strategies, small groups and one on one intervention related to behavior modification, academic etc.
- Assist the interventionists with creating social stories, adaptive modification tools, data sheets or any other tasks they may need assistance with.
- Assist teachers with various needs in their classrooms.
- Keep Calendar in the office up to date with meetings, schedules etc.
- Create electronic and hard-copy Files for new FIT kids as well as keep current files up to date with all paperwork including IFSP’s family meetings, goals etc.
- Assist with annual screeners if needed as well as Sensory Profiles
- Keep the office organized and materials accessible for the interventionists.
- File all papers that come into the office in their respective areas.
- Keep up with any articles, strategies, or magazines, conferences that may be beneficial to share with the team.
- Add to resources available in the office with up to date articles, research, strategies etc.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience working with children with special needs
- Strong written, and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with the early childhood population
- Basic Microsoft office skills
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Experience working with interdisciplinary team of therapists
Required Qualifications:
- Candidates need to be graduate Students currently enrolled in a program at the Morgridge College of Education, Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) or Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP) at the University of Denver.
Working Environment:
- Unexpected interruptions occur often
- Stress level is moderate to high.
Physical Activities:
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits:
- This position is eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- This position is also open to non-work study funded students.
- Students will be paid $19.29-22/hour.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
