The Future of American Alliances with Dr. Daniel Twining
The Future of American Alliances
Join the Alexander Hamilton Society (AHS) for a discussion on the future of U.S. alliances and the role allies play in helping the United States navigate an increasingly contested and rapidly changing geopolitical landscape. The conversation will examine how alliances across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East can adapt to emerging security, economic, and technological challenges, including questions of defense cooperation, burden sharing, and competition with revisionist powers.
Dr. Daniel Twining, President of the International Republican Institute, brings extensive experience in foreign policy and national security, having served across the U.S. government, Congress, think tanks, and academia. His previous roles include serving on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s Policy Planning Staff, as Foreign Policy Advisor to Senator John McCain, and as Counselor to the President and Director of the Asia Program at the German Marshall Fund.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Rachel Epstein, Professor of International Studies and Director of the Sié Chéou-Kang Center for International Security and Diplomacy at the University of Denver.
