What is IEMG?

The Industry Exploratory Mentoring Group (IEMG) gives students the opportunity to connect with alumni and explore various industries to learn more of the individual divisions that make up and support an organization. The student participants will learn about the importance of mentoring along their exploratory journey and how to get the most out of their mentoring relationships.  Alumni will serve as mentors and will not only share their journey towards their current careers but will also engage in supporting mentees as they discover their own paths. The IEMG program will support each area within the 4D student development model (Careers & Lives of Purpose, Intellectual Growth, Wellbeing and Character) along with a strong focus on developing career readiness competencies as identified by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) that include Career & Self Development, Communication and Professionalism.

The CPD Professional Mentoring Team will also help students identify other alumni mentors through the DU Career Network (link).  Other alumni/student-based programs include Mentor for a Moment and the Connecting DU networking events.  The CPD team will also be a resource for other colleagues across campus who want to create alumni/student based mentoring programs.
