Essential Functions:
- Assisting professors with literature reviews
- Reading and summarizing relevant legal cases
- Blue booking
- Presentation of scholarship
- Applicants will be reviewed on an ongoing basis as opportunities arise.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work both independently and in team settings.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, using legal research tools (Westlaw, Lexis/Nexis, etc.), and a knowledge of legal citation.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills required.
Required Qualifications:
- Current student of the Sturm College of Law.
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment
- Unexpected interruptions occur occasionally
- Stress level is moderate
- Noise level is quiet to moderate
Physical Activities:
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Compensation and Benefits:
- This position does not require a work-study award.
- Students will be paid minimum wage and work up to 10 hours per week.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
