Essential Functions

Research legal and related topics, using traditional and electronic resources;
-
Research non-legal topics using government and academic resources;
-
Locate and analyze statistical data and information from other disciplines;
-
Provide blue-booking and cite-checking services;
-
Evaluation, analysis, and summarization of research findings;
-
Scan physical resources into electronic format;
-
Upload documents and metadata on faculty scholarship to digital repositories; and
-
Prepare legal memos, bibliographies, or compile findings using word processing or spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-
Must be a currently enrolled law student in good standing at the Sturm College of Law;
-
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Word;

Possess demonstrated aptitude for research and analysis, including proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law databases;

Possess an ability to work independently; and
-
Ability to take on 10 hours per week of work, 5 of which must be performed in person within the library between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled law student in good standing at the Sturm College of Law

Ability to work 10 hours per week of work.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word;

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel;
-
Completion of the Westminster Law Library’s Certificate of Legal Research.
Working Environment
-
Employee will work in collaboration with the Faculty Services Librarian, who works remotely, as well as the Associate Director.

5 hours per week must be completed in person within the library’s workspace. This requires the ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.

Up to 5 hours per week may be performed remotely using the employee’s own computer and internet service.
Physical Activities
-
Sitting at a computer for extended periods.

Periodic use of the library’s physical resources such as casebooks, treatises, and statutes. This requires maneuvering the library stacks and carrying items up to 25 pounds.

Ability to use a scanner and photocopier to make physical or digital copies of physical resources.
