Essential Functions:
- Maintain and repair lab equipment (3D printers, laser engraver, etc.)
- Create a maintenance schedule and protocol to ensure equipment is in proper working order with minimal downtime
- Develop an inventory of replacement parts and system for organizing these parts/supplies
- Communicate status of equipment with others on your team and with management
- Create invoices for the purchase of replacement parts/equipment in an ongoing basis.
- Facilitate use of equipment by teaching constituents proper techniques
- Develop policies around proper use of equipment
- Work with marketing to develop training material/videos/”how to’s”
- Attend all required meetings/trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong skills in repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment
- Interest in helping others learn the possibilities/limitations of the equipment and resources in the lab.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Be resourceful and take initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, organizational skills, and willingness to work with a high volume of details are essential.
- Solid customer service
- Multitasking and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a strong attention to detail
Required Qualifications:
- Current DU undergraduate or graduate student enrolled for the 2024-2025 academic year.

- Manual dexterity is a fundamental skill for handling tools and materials
- Lifting and carrying capabilities are necessary for managing objects of varying weights.
- Tasks at varying heights might require your bending or kneeling abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
- This position is eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- Students will be paid $18.81-26.50 according to the student employee pay rate scale with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
