Essential Functions:
- Welcome users to the space, be friendly and offer immediate assistance
- Facilitate use of equipment
- Direct users to the appropriate resource (user manual, website resource, individual contact, management, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and safe environment – consistently clean up the space and put tools back where they belong
- Be aware of and enforce policies in the use of the space and equipment
- Check out/in equipment rentals
- Help with set-up and break-down of events
- Be willing to offer impromptu tours of the space
- Attend all required meetings/trainings
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Strong customer service skills
- Willingness to help others from a variety of backgrounds/disciplines and varying levels of proficiency/comfort with equipment
- A work ethic that always puts safety first
- Interest in learning alongside others to discover the possibilities/limitations of the equipment and resources in the lab.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Be resourceful and take initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, organizational skills
- Willingness to work with a high volume of details are essential.
Required Qualifications:
- Current DU undergraduate or graduate student enrolled for the 2024-2025 academic year.

- The physical abilities needed to work in the Innovation Labs are diverse and essential for a productive and safe environment.
- Manual dexterity is a fundamental skill for handling tools and materials
- Lifting and carrying capabilities are necessary for managing objects of varying weights.
- Tasks at varying heights might require your bending or kneeling abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
- This position is eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- Students will be paid $18.81-$26.50 according to the student employee pay rate scale with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
