Department Summary – Since 1964, the Josef Korbel School has challenged students to think critically about current affairs and support the common good. Essential Functions – The Program Assistant will assist directors of Certificate and Degree programs in scheduling courses, researching enrollments, helping with event planning, preparing materials to be used in advising and sending out communications to students in their programs, and anything else directors need to manage their programs. The bulk of work will likely concentrate in the weeks around preregistration each quarter, but there will be intermittent on going work on an as needed basis. Hours are 10 hours per quarter. Workstudy is advantageous but not required.
Useful skills include the following: event planning, group facilitation, managing social media, building an online database and system of contacts and materials, biweekly meetings, networking with student groups, and contacts to community organizations.

Qualifications – Current Korbel graduate student enrolled for the 2021-202 academic year, located in the Denver area. The Program Assistant should preferably be a student enrolled in the degree or certificate program.
Compensation and Benefits – Students will be paid $16-18/hr with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance. In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
