Essential Functions
- Support the division of Recreation & Wellness and Learn Gymnastics program by delivering high-quality gymnastics instruction to class participants.
- Plan progressive and deliver progressive, age and level appropriate gymnastics instruction to children ages 5-16 in levels beginner through advanced.
- Track and report student progress through established systems (My Skill Chart, Progress Reports)
- Communicate with gymnasts, parents and peers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Gymnastics background, knowledge or experience
- Ability to work with children
- Provide excellent customer service for all Ritchie Center participants and customers.
- Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the gymnastics gym.
- Able to work both individually and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
- 1+ years working with children
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coaching gymnastics
- Ability to spot gymnastics skills
Working Environment
- Indoor gymnastics facility environment. Variety of surfaces and equipment present.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
- Environment is moderate to loud.
Physical Activities
- Instructors will stand and be physically active for duration of shift.
- Lifting equipment and gymnasts up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrating gymnastics skills and activities
Work Schedule
- Part-time, hours will vary.
- Sat 8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits
- This position is eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office.
- This position is also open to non-work study funded students.
- Students will be paid $18.50 -21.00/hr.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
