Essential Functions
- Represent the Honors Program at all recruitment events listed in the Position Summary (also repeated at the end of this description)
- Present about the Honors Program in small and large group settings, including at fair-style events
- Review ~150-200 applications over a 12-week period
- Pull regular reports on applicant numbers
- Participate in training related to application review and reporting
- Manage all prospective student communication in the Honors inbox, generally related to program inquiries and application deadlines/issues
- Meet with prospective students when requested (usually ~5-10 students per year)
- Conduct outreach to students during their application process regarding upcoming deadlines and missing materials
- Other tasks, as needed

- Ability to work independently, consistently and reliably meet deadlines
- Engage with diverse audiences.
- Comfortability with technology and willingness to learn new systems.
Required Qualifications
- Current DU student enrolled in on-campus classes for the Winter 2025 & Spring 2025 quarters
Preferred Qualifications
- Student entering final two years at DU (undergraduate or graduate)
- Participation in the University Honors Program strongly preferred
- If not currently part of the Honors Program, experience with other Honors programs or advanced academic enrichment programs would also be helpful
- Previous experience in customer service, communication, or marketing
Physical Activities
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Working Environment
- Other than recruitment events and bi-weekly check-in’s with the Honors Assistant Director, this position can be done remotely and during any days/hours desired, so long as application reading deadlines are met.
- Recruitment events involve presentations in mid-to-large sized rooms, with anywhere from 10-40 people, as well as fair-style events with attendance of 100+.
- Recruitment events involve moderate-to-high levels of noise and stress.
Time Commitment
- This position is temporary, lasting from January 6 through May 18, 2024 and will be paid $19.00-$21.00/hour dependent on skills and previous experience.
- This position will require an average of about 75 hours total (~4 hours per week during the given period), though some weeks may require more or fewer hours depending on application volume and timing of recruitment events.
- April is generally the busiest month for both app review and recruitment events.
Applicants for this position must be available to assist with the following recruitment events, as these comprise an essential element of the role:
- Fridays@DU (~1:00-3:00 p.m. on the following dates: 2/14, 3/7, 3/14, 4/4, 4/11, & 4/18)
- Journey to DU (~10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.; exact dates TBD in early fall quarter, usually one Saturday in early March and one Saturday in early-to-mid April)
