As a classroom support teacher, you will assist in preparing and executing the daily program in preschool classrooms based on the mission and philosophy of our center. You will provide education and care for young children, including pre-academic support, scaffolding play, dressing, feeding, toiletry, and comforting. We expect all student employees to demonstrate positive interactions with adults and children while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. It is critical to follow health and safety policies and procedures at work.
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified candidates must have previous experience working with young children, such as babysitting, nanny experience, and summer camp counselor. Previous experience working with young children in a group setting is desirable but not required. Pediatric CPR/1st Aid is not required for this position.
All candidates are mandated to complete two different background checks as a part of the hiring process per the Colorado Office of Early Childhood/Department of Human Services, in addition to the background check initiated by DU. Upon hire, students will be asked to take an online onboarding training through DU student employment office before their 1st day of work at Fisher.
Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible for a federal work-study, which requires eligibility through the Financial Aid Office. Students will be paid $15.50-17.50/hr with the opportunity for yearly increases, dependent on performance.
In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
