Essential Functions:
Community-Engaged Project (e.g., research, creative work, and other collaborative work)
- Create, review, and pursue a quarterly personal action plan
- Fellows will fulfill stated responsibilities or duties related to their project. To view each community-engaged project and their duties, click here.
- Actively communicate, build relationships, and collaborate with team members, community partners, and project leads
- Present community-engaged scholarship in relevant academic and community outlets
Advancing Community Engagement
- Attend and support CCESL events, activities, and projects
- Give presentations to departments, student organizations, and classes
- Promote community engagement and CCESL’s student programs (e.g., through participating in tabling and contributing content to be shared on CCESL’s communication outlets)
Mentoring
- Meet with students regularly for 1to1s (e.g., biweekly, 30-minute 1to1s)
- Facilitate reflection, guidance, and support to Scholars (Scholars are students involved in community-engaged projects)
- Support Scholars in completing project duties, ePortfolios, and other Scholar requirements
Peer Learning and Reflection
- Participate in 90-minute Fellows weekly meetings for personal and professional development
- Complete all required trainings, readings, and other work related to the position
- Create and present an ePortfolio (website) that summarizes and reflects upon Fellow’s project/collaborative work
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Experience in community engagement, civic engagement, or community organizing

Required Qualifications:
- Be a Graduate student enrolled for the entire 2026-2027 academic year.
- Undergraduates who demonstrate advanced expertise and experience in community engagement will also be considered.
- International students are welcome to apply.
Working Environment:
- Standard office environment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is low to moderate.
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Compensation, Time Commitment, and In-Office Expectations:
- Pay Rate: $20.00-$23.00/hour, commensurate with education level and relevant experience
- Hours: 10 hours/week for Fall-Spring quarters, with most hours occurring during normal business hours
- In-office: At least 3 hours/week in-office or at CCESL-sponsored events, including: weekly 90-minute Fellows meeting and biweekly 1to1 meetings with a CCESL staff member
