Description:
This is a part-time, temporary position as a Student Intern with the Mile High Flood District (MHFD). This is a highly educational and rewarding experience for a student with a keen interest in gaining practical experience in the design, construction, and annual stream management of flood control projects. The hours and schedule are flexible (within traditional business hours). You will work from 20 to 25 hours per week when school is in session and up to 40 hours per week during summer, winter, and spring vacations. We will accommodate reasonable personal time-off requests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with annual stream management contract
- Inspect ongoing stream management work and other small construction activities
- Maintain various office data bases and spreadsheet files
- Assist with public awareness and concerns
- Assist with providing support using ArcGIS software and tools
- General office assistance and other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Undergraduate student in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
- Full-time student with graduation at least 18 months away (18-month minimum commitment
- to this internship)
- Must own or have access to automobile with valid Colorado driver’s license and valid automobile insurance
- Satisfactory completion of background investigation (including motor vehicle and criminal investigation)
