JOB SUMMARY
Working under direct supervision, the basic function of this position includes the maintenance, monitoring and enhancing of existing financial systems and tools and generating detailed reports and financial analyses in support of various projects and business decisions. Works closely with all manufacturing operations areas and some corporate function organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Participates in monthly financial close process, having direct review and journal entry responsibility for assigned elements of the manufacturing P&L (e.g. Materials Purchases/Price Variance).
- Computes and analyzes manufacturing variances and reviews with Cost Accounting Manager and/or manufacturing personnel.
- Contributes to writing/documenting finance processes and/or Cost Accounting procedures.
- Provides input to the development and maintenance of standard costs for assigned product lines and monitors actual performance against these standards.
- Analyzes General Ledger or sub-system output for consistency and accuracy and resolves questionable items.
- Provides and maintains required reports, cost accounting information and analysis for manufacturing.
- Develops sound business relationships with all appropriate functional areas such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Master Data Control, Engineering, Warehousing and Quality Assurance.
- Works with Cost Accounting Manager to develop and maintain departmental budgets.
- Provides training on transactions and procedures to internal customers as required.
- Participates in identifying, recommending and implementing improvements to department systems and processes
- Assists with plant variance forecasting process and SAP data entry/maintenance requests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Entry-level position with Bachelor’s degree
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Requires knowledge of key concepts and design of automated processes that ensure data integrity to the customer.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively, especially MS Excel.
- SAP software system experience preferred, but not required
- Desire to learn the manufacturing process and material flow for assigned manufacturing area(s).
- Demonstrated reporting capabilities and understanding of the multiple systems applications within a corporate environment.
