Job Title: Software Engineer, New Grad (Zara)

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Remote (Must overlap PST timezone at least 6-8 hours)

The Role

This is an early-career full-stack role designed for recent graduates who want to grow quickly by building real products. You’ll contribute to — and gradually take ownership of — core product features end-to-end.

You’ll primarily work on improving Zara, our AI Recruiter agent, helping shape how it operates, scales, and delivers value to users—while being mentored by experienced engineers.

What You’ll Work On

  1. Contribute to the design and development of full-stack systems powering core product workflows.
  2. Build backend services and APIs with guidance, focusing on clean, maintainable code.
  3. Develop user-facing features and interfaces that ship directly to real users.
  4. Support data modeling efforts and learn best practices for database performance and scalability.
  5. Collaborate with product and design teams to turn ideas into working features.
  6. Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of engineering quality.
  7. Help debug issues and learn how to maintain reliable production systems.
  8. Grow your ability to make smart tradeoffs between speed and quality in a fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Recent graduate (or graduating soon) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Hands-on experience through internships, academic projects, or personal projects.
  3. Solid fundamentals in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  4. Familiarity with frontend frameworks like React (or similar).
  5. Familiarity with backend development (Node.js).
  6. Exposure to databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and general data modeling concepts.
  7. Understanding of how APIs work and how applications communicate.
  8. Curiosity, strong willingness to learn, and attention to detail.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  1. Internship experience in software engineering.
  2. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  3. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD basics, or deployment workflows.
  4. Interest in AI, data-driven products, or modern system design.
  5. Experience working on team projects or hackathons.

Regional Hiring Notes

This role is being hired in parallel across multiple regions due to coverage needs, compliance requirements, and time-zone alignment. Responsibilities and expectations are identical; employment terms vary by region.
