From Nervous to “Nailed It!”: Interviewing Strategies for Grad Students and Alumni [Grad Series]

Feeling nervous about interviews, or unsure how to prepare? Good news – interviewing strategy is a skill that anyone can get better at! In this workshop, graduate students will learn how to approach interviews with confidence, clarity, and strategy. Whether you’re actively interviewing now or preparing to in the future, this session will help you turn anxiety into readiness and make a strong first (and closing) impression.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:
- Understand different types of interviews and what to expect
- Prepare responses that highlight your strengths and experience
- Use storytelling techniques to communicate your value
- Navigate behavioral, situational, and tricky questions with confidence
- Ask thoughtful questions that show your engagement and fit
- Avoid common interview mistakes and manage nerves effectively
Whether you’re new to interviewing or looking to refine your approach, this workshop will help you show up prepared, polished, and ready to say, “I nailed it!”
