Denver City Trek
Navigate the urban landscape of Denver to meet potential employers, attend networking events, and explore companies in person. It’s like a walking tour, but with a professional twist. Instead of sightseeing, you’ll be visiting offices, meeting employers and alums, and getting a feel for the company culture firsthand. This approach allows you to personally connect with potential employers and gain insights that you wouldn’t get from an online job search. It’s a proactive way to boost your job hunt and make a memorable impression!
The trek will comprise of visiting three employers and ending the day networking with these employers and DU alumni at at an alumni-owned business.

Application Instructions
We are excited to invite students to apply for our upcoming Denver City Trek. The Denver City Trek aims to provide students with an understanding of various career paths, facilitate meaningful networking opportunities, and support professional development. This unique opportunity will allow you to explore different career options, connect with industry professionals, and gain valuable insights into your future career path. Additionally, each selected participant will receive a $250 grant to be used for their professional development needs.

Application Requirements:

- Your Resume: Highlighting your education, experiences, and skills.
- Responses to the Following Questions:
- Introduction: Tell us about yourself. What are your academic and career interests?
- Motivation: Why do you want to participate in the City Trek? What do you hope to gain from this experience?
- NACE Career Skills: Which NACE career skills do you believe this City Trek will help you develop? How do you plan to use these skills in your future career?
Program Requirements:
Participants must attend preparation workshops and complete assigned tasks, as well as engage in appropriate follow-up activities, which will be shared with participants once selected.
Application Review and Selection:
All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. The committee will evaluate applications based on the following criteria:
- Completeness and Quality: Ensuring all required documents are submitted and responses are well-articulated.
- Relevance and Motivation: Assessing the alignment of your academic and career interests with the goals of the City Trek.
- Potential for Growth: Evaluating how the City Trek can help you develop NACE career skills and contribute to your professional development.
Submission Instructions:
Please submit your resume and responses to the questions by Monday, March 17 at 12 pm. Applications should be submitted through PCO.
Selected participants will be notified by Monday, March 24 with an acceptance deadline of Friday, March 31. Those on the waitlist will be informed if spots become available.
