The Josef Korbel Office of Career and Professional Development would like to invite you to our Career Conversations event, where you can enjoy a conversation over dinner with DU Alumni
This event will be with National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) and will include alumni from several policy areas.
NCSL represents legislatures in dealing with the federal government, especially in support of state sovereignty and state flexibility and protection from unfunded federal mandates and unwarranted federal preemption. The conference promotes cooperation between state legislatures in the U.S. and those in other countries.

Karmen Hanson, Program Director, Health Program at National Conference of State Legislatures. Hanson received her MA in Sociology from the University of Denver in 1997. She has worked at the NCSL for the last 20 years.
Suzanne (Hultin) Humphries, Program Director, National Conference of State Legislatures. Humphries recieved her MPP from Korbel in 2011 and has worked in her current position at NCSL since 2013.
Charlie Severance-Medaris, Policy Specialist at National Conference of State Legislatures. Severance-Medaris received his MPP in 2014. He began working at NCSL at a Policy Associate in 2019, and has since transitioned into a Specialist role.
John Mahoney, Senior Policy Specialist at National Conference of State Legislatures. Mahoney graduated from Korbel in 2015 with an MA in International Relations and Affairs. He worked in several roles at NCSL over three years, including as a Senior Policy Specialist. Last April he transitioned to the City and County of Denver, where he is currently working as a Legislative Policy Analyst.
