The University of Denver’s Employer Connections team abides by the National Association of Colleges & Employers [NACE] Professional Standards for University Relations & Recruiting

Job Posting Limitations

    • Telemarketing and/or commission-based employment should be excluded from the database
    • Third party recruiting agencies will be approved on an individual basis and should contact our team to discuss before registering
    • Jobs that require payment of any sort will not be approved to the database

The University of Denver and many of its students are recipients of federal funding. To avoid a conflict in federal laws, and to protect our students and university from potential exposure to federal prosecution by association, the University of Denver career centers are unable to approve employers, job postings, or participate in any other external engagement involved with the development, production, testing, distribution, or use of recreational or medical marijuana or other federally illegal substances. Jobs related to governmental compliance are eligible to utilize career services and post to the Pioneer Careers database.

Employers that are involved in hemp production or research may be eligible to utilize career services if they can provide 1) evidence that they are registered with the State of Colorado Department of Agriculture AND 2) Information regarding the THC levels of the products they are selling.

Community Job Postings Guidelines

As of September 20, 2023, the posting guidelines for community jobs are as follows. DU does not allow community job postings, such as those involving childcare, homecare, personal care, assistance, private tutoring, etc. that are not connected to a company or agency to be posted to PCO, DU’s job and internship database.

We suggest you utilize services such as placement agencies or public posting platforms such as www.quadjobs.com. Quad Jobs is a platform designed to connect students to these types of opportunities. DU students who are interested in these types of job opportunities will be referred to Quad Jobs.

Candidate Search Rules of Engagement Employer Policy

My organization agrees that:

    • The Candidate Search Function is only utilized for finding candidates for open opportunities within my organization.
    • Student email address are not allowed to be used to promote, sell or advertise to students.
    • Student contact information will not be collected and/or distributed to any other entity within or outside of my organization.

In order to track the impact of this feature for our employers, we reserve the right to request the following from users:

    • When your last candidate search took place
    • Your search criteria
    • What form of outreach was conducted
    • The names of student’s resumes that were received

The University of Denver reserves the right to revoke (or remove) the candidate search function from your profile if we find that your company is in violation of any of these policies outlined in this document.

Best Practices When Contacting Students:

  • When interacting with any student population, we ask that you do not contact the same student within two months of your previous outreach without a student’s direct response.
  • Our students may not necessarily know why you are contacting them. We encourage you to mention that you located their resume on PCO, send a company overview and a compelling job description for best results when outreaching to students.
