Essential Functions
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures during the year. This includes reviewing room inventory forms, completing check-in packets, and checking residents in and out of our systems via StarRez.
- Complete paperwork and administrative assignments in a timely manner, including but not limited to equipment check out, emergency procedures, key issues, inventory forms, etc.
- Assist residents with lock-out keys and other key issues.
- Check-out and check-in desk equipment to residents (e.g. vacuums, dollies, and games)
- Keep the Supervisor, Administrator on Call (AOC) and/or professional staff members, including the Resident Director and Graduate Resident Director informed about concerns, incidents, etc. regarding desk operations.
- Sort, track, and log packages and mail for residents received throughout the day.
- Check-in all overnight guests at the front desk, as outlined in the Guest Policy.
- Serve as an information source to residents and parents about university and community services.
- Promote an appreciation and respect for diversity within the building community.
- Submit incident reports and SOS referrals as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Attention to detail, with a highly organized approach to data/project management
- Knowledge of campus resources and how to direct students effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain constructive work relationships with student, graduate, and professional staff in HRE, Facilities, and Custodial Services
Required Qualifications
- Must be enrolled full-time in classes (12 credit hours for undergraduate students; 9 credits for graduate students)
- Must begin employment and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or former experience as RA or DA
- 24-25 RA
- Candidates with needed availability (see attached xlsx)
- Candidate must be prepared to work with limited supervision, be self-motivated, organized, prepared to handle non-routine circumstances and make sound decisions
- Approaches their work with a coachable spirit and the ability to follow compliance/policy guidelines, as social media continually evolves
- Knowledge of DU resource
Working Environment
- Standard office environment
- Unexpected interruptions occur often
- Stress level is moderate to high
- Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities:
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time
- Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.
Work Schedule
This position is a 10-month live-off. DAs can work up to 20 hours each week excluding 3 weeks of Winter Break. Workloads increase at the beginning and end of each quarter.
Compensation & Benefits
Work-Study or Non-Work-Study base pay of $18.29 per hour.
In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
