Would you or a colleague like to have input regarding DU students’ career and professional development strategies? Career & Professional Development is currently seeking nominations of faculty that teach undergraduate students who would like to participate on the Faculty Career Champion (FCC) Working Group. This group meets quarterly to provide ideas and feedback on a variety of strategic directions for future initiatives. Several current members’ two year terms are expiring in the fall of 2020.
Ron Rizzuto: “Participating in the FCC Working Group has been a valuable experience for me. I got a chance to meet all of the individuals throughout DU who are working students on career & professional development and we were all able to share are ideas with Heidi Perman and Brandon Buzbee as well as see the plans for the future.”
Mark Siemens: “I had no idea there were so many career-related initiatives going on across campus! Being a part of the FCC Working Group opened my eyes to the needs of and opportunities for our students, and I met a bunch of fantastic career champions who are serving students in creative ways. The group is amazingly supportive of students all across campus, and I felt like my perspective was genuinely valued.”
Breigh Roszelle: “One of my favorite things about working on committees that include faculty from different units is hearing all of the great ideas everyone has to share. We are all unique and yet have the same overall goal, to provide our students with the best opportunity to excel post-graduation.”
The commitment is for two years starting in the fall 2020 with 3 meetings per year. We will also soon be meeting in the Burwell Center for Career Achievement!
Please contact us if you or someone you know would like to be nominated to be a part of this group.
