Denver Industry Spotlight: ENERGY

The energy industry is divided into two sub-groups: fossil fuel energy and cleantech. In a region that ranks 5th in the nation for fossil fuel energy employment and 4th for cleantech employment, it is no wonder that the energy industry is a highly demanded field to work in.

Colorado has one of the highest concentrations of federally funded science and research facilities with proximity to 30 federal research institutions including the highly accredited, U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

Combined, fossil fuel energy and cleantech provide over 52,000 jobs for individuals in the region, with an average wage of $107,410 (fossil fuel energy) and $81,630 (cleantech). Now’s the time to enter the booming energy industry!
