Denver Industry Spotlight: BIOSCIENCE

Totaling at $519 million in 2017, Colorado has ranked third in the nation for life science-related venture capital investments. It is important to note that the bioscience industry is divided into two groups: 1) medical devices/diagnostics and 2) pharmaceuticals/biotechnology. Combined, the bioscience industry employs more than 16,000 individuals in nearly 730 companies.

Colorado ranked 9th in the nation for the number of science, engineering, and health graduate students per 1,000 people in the 25-34-year-old age group. It is also home to 4, top-ranked bioscience programs at universities, one of these being right here at the University of Denver.
