An Evening with Executives from Arrow Electronics

Evening with Executives from Arrow Electronics

On February 15 at the Sie Complex, the University of Denver hosted a dinner and networking event featuring more than 20 executives from Arrow Electronics who were interested in meeting faculty, staff, and students from all academic majors who may have an interest in a career with Arrow.

Over 100 attendees from across campus viewed a presentation highlighting Arrow’s global innovations and solutions.  Vin Melvin, the Chief Information Officer for Arrow Electronics, commented, “Great crowd! We are at larger schools and can’t get this many students to attend an Arrow event.  We will continue to recruit from DU; students are prepared and interested in working at Arrow!”

Following the event, students made remarks like, “Wow, that CIO guy was NICE. He took a lot of time to visit with me one on one and I wasn’t expecting him to be so NICE.” Someone said, “I need to tell my freshman psychology roommate that they should be looking into working for Arrow Electronics.” Another student commented, “I thought I knew who I wanted to work for, but now I think perhaps Arrow Electronics is an opportunity that might help me grow as a human and not just as a robot human.”

The event offered a wonderful first step toward building a relationship with one of Denver’s top companies and leading employers.  Ten students were very fortunate to win one-on-one lunch with an Arrow executive.  It was also a good chance to engage with top executives (CIO and others) and to learn more about an immersive summer internship program; one of the top in the nation. All who participated enjoyed a night filled with great conversation. Click here for more information about how Arrow Electronics is globally engaged in innovative ways.
